Mighty Tails Takes Flight: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators Through Advanced Air Mobility Education

Monterey Bay, CA–On Wright Brothers Day and alongside the release of the United States Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Strategy that are the recommendations following the implementation of the AAM Coordination and Leadership Act (Public Law 117-203), The Eden8 Foundation announced the launch of Mighty Tails. This groundbreaking K-5 AAM educational program blends storytelling with immersive experiences to spark curiosity, courage, and creativity in the innovators of tomorrow.

The Mighty Tails animated series follows the high-flying adventures of Astro, a lovable rescue dog with a surprising past in next-generation aviation. Written by Hollywood talent Jacob Meszaros—known for his work on Rocking the Boat, Unaccompanied Minors, and The Simpsons—the series brings top-notch storytelling and memorable music to the classroom. With his human partner Lula, Astro introduces K-5 students to AAM and its societal benefits through real-world STEAM challenges. With the cutting-edge Monterey Bay Research and Test Center as their backdrop, the duo discovers the exciting world of AAM, piloting experimental aircraft, tackling emergency drone missions, and learning from leading scientists and engineers. Each episode blends humor, action, and engineering thinking to inspire students and build the future workforce to create a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system for humanity.Seasoned animator and global branding specialist JM Marr brings new, lovable characters to life. Original music written and recorded by Los Angeles–based talent Corey Nill and Lula Sphinx.

“From the first flight to the future of mobility, progress has always been driven by bold dreamers,” said Sarasina Tuchen, CEO and Trustee of The Eden8 Foundation and Creator and Producer of the Mighty Tails series. “Through captive storytelling and a national standards-aligned curriculum, the Mighty Tails education program encourages young learners to imagine, experiment, and take flight in the emerging advanced air mobility ecosystem. The program also directly addresses key recommendations for workforce development and K-12 pathways highlighted in the AAM National Strategy.”

Tuchen’s vision for Mighty Tails is grounded in her extensive leadership across advanced aviation technologies, integration, and interoperability. With more than 35 years of experience in both private industry and federal government, she led the national automation strategy for the AAM Interagency Working Group and played a pivotal role in shaping the AAM National Strategy. Her deep understanding of both the technological and workforce dimensions of AAM positions her uniquely to launch this first-of-its-kind educational program, ensuring that it empowers and equips the next generation of innovators.

Beyond the animated series, Mighty Tails offers:

Mighty Tails is designed to provide early exposure to aviation, robotics, communication systems, navigation systems, and automation technologies, helping to close the “dream gap” by engaging students before they self-select out of STEAM pathways. Through story-driven, investigative learning, the program equips students with critical problem-solving skills while showcasing the societal benefits of AAM to future transportation leaders.

Mighty Tails will soon be available online at https://mightytails.education. Following the pilot program, the series and curriculum will roll out progressively, with classroom resources, tailored curricula, and teacher guides to support implementation in schools nationwide.
