Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)
AAM is a rapidly emerging sector of the aerospace industry focused on safely and efficiently integrating highly automated aircraft into American airspace, as outlined in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s national Advanced Air Mobility strategy.
AAM is not a single technology, but a collection of new and emerging aviation technologies, including new aircraft types, advanced automation, and supporting systems. Together, these innovations are designed to deliver agile, affordable, and accessible flight options for people and cargo, while driving infrastructure development, workforce education and training, high-quality job creation, and long-term innovation across the U.S. aviation ecosystem.
