K-5 Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Curriculum
At Mighty Tails, we believe the best time to inspire curiosity, courage, and creativity in students is early, before they self-select out of STEAM and aviation pathways. That’s why our curriculum is designed to bring advanced aviation ecosystem concepts, aligned with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Advanced Air Mobility vision, directly into the K–5 classroom.
Why Closing the Dream Gap Matters for Advanced Air Mobility
The future of advanced air mobility depends on a new generation of pilots, operators, engineers, and technicians, yet most children decide before age 10 whether these careers feel possible for them. This early self-exclusion, known as the dream gap, creates a talent shortage long before students ever encounter aviation pathways. By introducing aviation systems, concepts and new AAM technologies in elementary school, we help all children see these fields as real, exciting, and accessible. Early exposure builds confidence, keeps students engaged in STEM, and strengthens the future workforce that AAM will rely on.
Closing the dream gap is essential for both educational equity and national leadership in this new era of flight.
At Mighty Tails, we believe the best time to inspire curiosity, courage, and creativity in students is early, before they self-select out of STEAM and aviation fields. That’s why our curriculum is designed to bring advanced aviation ecosystem concepts directly into the K-5 classroom—helping to develop a new workforce that will create a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable transportation future for all.
