Mighty Tails follows the high-flying adventures of Lula, an anxious but brilliant 9-year-old with a natural gift for science, and Astro, her lovable rescue dog with an unexpected past in next-generation aviation. Living beside the cutting-edge Monterey Bay Research and Test Center, Lula and Astro discover that the world of advanced air mobility is bigger, bolder, and more exciting than they ever imagined. After accidentally (and heroically) piloting an experimental VTOL aircraft on their first day visiting the center, Lula and Astro are welcomed by Dr. Serena Lee, the warm and visionary Senior Scientist who recognizes their potential. Under her mentorship, the duo becomes part of a youth tech-training program designed to introduce future innovators to aviation, robotics, navigation systems, and experimental drone technologies. Each episode follows Lula and Astro as they take on real-world challenges while navigating friendships, school life, STEAM problem-solving, and the surprising responsibilities that come with working around advanced aircraft.
From emergency drone missions and wildfire response demonstrations, to simulated flight challenges, lab experiments, and mysterious tech failures around the center, Lula and Astro use curiosity, courage, and teamwork to help keep Monterey Bay safe. Throughout the series, Lula grows from a nervous, introverted kid into a confident young aviator and engineer, discovering her own voice and leadership skills. Astro brings humor, heart, and unexpected expertise as he teaches Lula — and viewers — that learning can be joyful, science is magical, and bravery comes in many forms.
